E-Bike Loan- Scotland Leading The Way.

Here’s a breakdown of the bike loan scheme:


Loans are capped at £6,000 and are repayable over 4 year period per household that entitled you to:

  • 2 X E-bikes at £3,000 each

  • 1 X family e-cargo bike capped at £6,000

  • 1X adapted e-bike capped at £6,000


Apart from the deposit, you must not make any other contribution towards the purchase of the e-bike prior to receiving your loan as funding is not provided retrospectively.

Things to note

  • The loan is only available for up to £6,000 per household, although there is no limit to the number of bikes per household

  • There are no administrative fees

  • You have 4 years to make the repayments

  • Applications are the first-come-first-serve subject to availability

  • Applications are subject to credit and affordability checks

  • Your loan cannot be applied after the e-bike has been paid for in full

  • Apart from the deposit applicants must not make any other payment towards the e-bike before being offered a load from the energy saving trust.
